    Description

    For sale is a vintage African gourd container from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
    The gourd is decorated extensively with shells, nut shells, strands of beads on the top and bottom of the gourd:  it is held together by fiber.
    There is some patina to the look of the beads  and fiber.
    The gourd is in very good condition but it seems the handle on top has been repaired (however, and does not take away from the piece).
    The measurements are 6 1/2" H X 9 1/2" wide; the top and bottom do not fit perfectly which is the way it was meant to be because the twine is preventing a tight seal.
    I have been selling tribal art on ebay since 1999 so buy with confidence.
