    Description

    Antique AFRICAN Woven Coil Basket.
    Very Good Antique Condition.
    13" widest x 6" deep x 10" across rim
    This is a beautiful and unusual basket and I haven't found a similar one in my research for identification.  It has a an open-weave on the coils. There is a shell (appears to be coconut) about 3.5" diameter that is woven to the center on the bottom.  It has a circular footing of approximately 1/4".  There are a couple areas where the weave around the rim has become loose, or broken off. However, none of these issues (in my opinion) detract from the beauty or decorative display purposes of this Antique basket. See photos.
