    Description

    A large birds eye rhyolite sphere hand crafted by my geologist friend who is an expert when it comes to making beautiful spheres. The rough came from the Kofa Wilderness area about 35 miles south of Quartzsite, Arizona. It not only has the birds eye patterns in it but also tan starburst patterns. The tan colored patterns contrast with the darker brown body color which makes the sphere very attractive. All pictures were taken in shaded daylight. Please note that the right top portion of the sphere in every picture has light reflections in it. They are not flaws.
    The sphere measures 14.125" in circumference and 4.50" in diameter. It weighs 4 lbs. 02 oz. or 1,820 grams. The clear acrylic circular stand you see in the pictures will be included in the purchase. Sorry about the shipping expense. I simply can't use the USPS boxes. They are much too flimsy. Instead, I use the sturdy UPS cube shaped boxes and line the inside of them with styrofoam for extra protection. That way I know it will travel safely.. Also, the shipping cost includes 0 worth of insurance.
