Lot Of 12 large African Bolga Ghana U Shopper Baskets.
These beautiful hand-woven baskets are from Bolgatanga,Ghana, West Africa, where I come from.
The “Bolga baskets” are all natural baskets made from elephant grass. The elephant grass grows wild and is harvested, dried and made into twine,then woven by mostly the women of the village.
The weavers/leather crafters of the “Bolga baskets” are mostly farm families from the historic town of Bolgatanga. The families have been weaving and selling these handcrafted works of art for generations! The purchase of these baskets is helping a family in Africa. The specialized weaving process makes these baskets strong yet flexible.
They can be reshaped or washed by getting them wet with water and forming them with your hands and putting them out to dry.
Rewetting baskets every now and again will actually add flexibility to the natural fibers and extend the life of the basket. These beautiful baskets handcrafted by families in Ghana are green, sustainable and long lasting. We hope you will have yours for years to come
Every basket is a unique handcrafted piece of artwork so sizes are approximate and may vary slightly. We ship all of our baskets
flattened to save space and cost and the buyer must shape them themselves. All baskets are shipped FREE with tracking provided.
