Hello, here is a lot of THREE! nice and 100% Natural Orthoceras fossils in their contrasting colored matrix! They have been polished into teardrop like shapes and are from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, North Africa.
These sculptures took many hours of preparation as the matrix is very hard.
Orthoceras were squid like animals with hard shells that lived in the Silurian age a CRAZY! 400 million years ago. These animals were in their fossilized state way before the first dinosaurs ever walked the earth!
The largest fossil measures a nice! 17.0cm or 6 11/16" at its biggest.
