Naturally Holey Beach Stone, Coquinoid Sandstone
Surf-tumbled by the tides and time.
Wild caught by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
The stone is 1 7/8” x 1 3/8” x 1/4” thick.
Two holes easily accommodates a 6 gage wire as shown, the other 3 holes area bit smaller.
(There are 5 holes total.)
It is shades of very light tan/gray and has a smooth texture.
The size allows for easy gripping to hold and look through the holes.
It holds nicely in your hand...the entire stone is worn smooth.
The stone in the photos is the one you will receive.

Hag stones have occupied myth and magic folklore for centuries.
But what are Hag Stones?
Hag stones are stones that have a naturally
occurring hole inside them. These stones are often
found along the
coastal points, beaches, and streams. These holes occur from the elements
beating down upon them over many years.  There are also speculations
that these mysterious
stones may have been formed by a “worm hole”.
A Hag stone is also known as a Witch Stone
or Adder Stone or Holey Stone
and has quite a bit of lore and many magical properties associated
with them.
Part of the folklore is that if you look through the holes you can see fairies.
