One Naturally Holey, Heart-shaped Beach Stone, coquinoid sandstone.
Surf tumbled by the tides and time.
Sustainably wild caught by me along the shores of the Treasure Coast.
This heart-shaped stone is 1 3/4” x 2” x 7/8” thick.
The large hole easily accommodates the 5/8” copper pipe.
It is gray with a few ivory shell inclusions.
It has rounded, smooth surfaces and edges.
For full disclosure....There is a crack in this stone next to the bottom point of the heart.
And it shows no other sign of weakness.... still holding together.
The large hole, the crack....It all speaks to the karma within this stone.
Maybe you know that special person who has a wounded heart but still
manages to keep it all together.....
It is easy to hold and look through the large hole.

Hag stones have occupied myth and magic folklore for centuries.
But what are Hag Stones?
Hag stones are stones that have a naturally
occurring hole inside them. These stones are often
found along the
coastal points, beaches, and streams. These holes occur from the elements
beating down upon them over many years.  There are also speculations that
these mysterious
stones may have been formed by a “worm hole”. A Hag
stone is also known as a Witch Stone
or Adder Stone or Holey Stone and
has quite a bit of lore and many magical properties associated
with them.
Part of the folklore is that if you look through the holes you can see fairies.
