Up for auction is a magnificent De Porceleyne Fles figurine.
These figures (Farmer and Farmer’s Wife) were made in large and smaller versions. This is the smaller one.
Approximate measurements: 6 1/4” height.
This figure is in exceptional condition. Like new, without chips, cracks, repairs or crazing.
The year code is DF, corresponding to 1986.
Founded in 1635, De Porceleyne Fles (The Porcelain Jar or Bottle) is Holland’s most famous Delft Blue factory. Of the dozens of original 17th century Dutch pottery makers, only De Porceleyne Fles remains in operation. Collectors know that delftware produced by De Porceleyne Fles, (also known as Royal Delft,) is recognized to be the standard against which all delftware is judged.
This figure sells for €245= 0 at the Porceleyne Fles store in Delft.
